Your video should be exactly as long as the content demands — not one second longer. A tight 9-minute video beats a padded 15-minute video every time. If you find yourself adding filler to hit a time target, your video is too long.

Check your retention graphs. If there's a consistent drop-off at the 8-minute mark across multiple videos, your natural length is 8 minutes. Don't fight the data.
